DVZ Chatbox isn't working because of my PHP version, on my hosting my php for my website now is 5.3.29 FastCGI, and I have an option to update it to 5.5.21 CGI (Latest) If I update this will DVZ chat box work and will anything on my forum break? Thanks!

Yes, DVZ Shoutbox works on PHP versions 5.4 and higher, as well as does the MyBB itself.
