I am trying to access my site and I keep getting this message:

MyBB has generated a critical error and as a result cannot function correctly.

I don't know any of the technical stuff about the site and I can't get ahold of the Administrator who does. What can I do?
Did you run the install script?

Whats the link to your forum?
www.thewritersblock.org.uk

I'm really sorry but I don't know what that means. That's the problem, he handles all the technical things and I'm pretty much technologically illiterate.

Also, I don't know if this matters any but the site's been up for about three or four months and has worked fine.
Was he trying to upgrade do you know?
I really don't know, but I emailed him about 45 minutes ago and he still hasn't emailed me back. It's only 9am his time so I doubt he's been online yet, much less making upgrades. Also, he usually informs the other staff members if he plans to work on the site at all.
Never mind, problem's being fixed. Thanks for your help.
For future reference there is an install guide here: [Wiki: Installing] (Broken link, head over to docs.mybb.com instead) which should be easier for more non-technologically inclined people.

Can you put this also in the wiki? this is the reason why RileyAlicia faced that problem.. i also got the same error. but after doing the above mentioned step, it got rectified..

there is no information in the wiki to run the install script.

Isn't it sort of obvious to run the install script when an error pops up and tells you that it needs to be installed?...
