This has been mentioned many times and has been noted as a very useful feature. It will most likely be included.

Is this alert function could include an alert for the following:
- somebody replying to a thread which I am the owner
- somebody replying to any thread in the global forum
- somebody replying to selected threads (or forum or categories)
- creation of a new thread
- receiving a PM
And the possibility to tune the alerts we want via checkboxes in the user panel.

Of course. Uses will be able to opt in or out of every type of alert or completely disable alerts entirely (as will administrators).

If you want we can update our plugin for MyBB (
http://community.mybb.com/thread-173203.html ), since we know how to work with Laravel etc. Like this, you can instantly see every singly thing that happened on the forum when you're online and offline.
This is even easier, you don't have to press the button (like on facebook) to see what alerts you have, you simply receive a notification in your right corner and if you want to go to it you're being linked. If you don't want to see it you de-activate it or click the mark to hide it.

It's possible we might add desktop notifications into the core - it's certainly it's something I would like to have given almost all browsers now support it.
So what do you think? Would you like to give it a try to have UA Messages on MyBB 2.0 or would you like to create your own one in a different style, system etc?
