I have heard that Stop Forum Spam is now part of MyBB 1.8
Is there a feature list for Stop Forum Spam about its capabilities in MyBB 1.8? In other words where can I read about how to use all features of Stop Forum Spam within MyBB 1.8? TIA
- Check posts against SFS (email, IP, username)
- Check registrations against SFS (email, IP, username)
- Check contact form requests against SFS (IP, email)
The only feature missing is reporting users to SFS, but that can be done via the goodbye spammer tool.
Does anyone know if Stop Forum Spam can ban registrations from selected countries by entering a country code?
Fassim Anti Spam (link to question about plugin compatibility with 1.8) has this and I found it
extremely useful.

No, Stop Forum Spam is an external API. If you really want to block according to country code (or, in actuality, an IP range), you should do so via your server firewall in most cases anyway.

I know how to block by IP range but for countries like China it is no trivial task. In Fassim I only had to enter a country code of CN to prevent registrations from China.
You said plainly that Stop Forum Spam cannot block registrations from certain countries and since the only alternative you offered was to block by IP I assume that there are no plugins for 1.8 that can do this.
If someone could try Fassim Anti Spam in MyBB 1.8 and confirm that it either does or does not work with it I would be very grateful and express my deepest appreciation for their effort.
