To put this as simply as I can think to, what I'd like is to have something that performs functions similar to the Extended Search Options plugin, but for 1.6.
For those unfamiliar, this plugin lends flexibility to the "Show Results as Posts" page by allowing customization of the length of subjects and messages of post results, as well as parsing of myCode in results.
An additional preferred feature would be the ability to display the poster's avatar, but I'd consider this an optional addition due to the fact this request seems pretty tall already.
