How do you change the configuration so instead of having www.example.com/mybb I can use www.example.com/forum ?

I've tried doing it in the board settings but the forum does not come up right.


Also, how do I get to redesign  the homepage of the forum?

first change board url and cookie settings in forum admin panel (at site details of configuration settings for MyBB 1.8.x)
then rename folder name at the files server (eg. rename mybb to forum)
