Hi,

I set up a MYBB board under xyz domain name.

Then I got my hosting provider to change my domain name to abc.

I noticed in my cpanel that the database and username prefix automatically changed to abc.

I then changed the /inc/config.php file to point to the new database name.

The site now loads but I can't login any more. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what else might need doing please?

board url & cookie settings should be changed first in ~/inc/settings.php file and then at the admin panel

I saw another thread where I did everything you suggested but it did not state to do this "Your cookie domain MUST NOT start with or contain http:// or https://!"

Also, what does this mean "Then, you MUST go to 'ACP > Configuration > General Configuration' and make the change here too. "

I can't see anything in General configuration that relates to cookies or anything..

for MyBB 1.6.x => board url & cookie settings are at General Configuration (in Configuration settings)
for MyBB 1.8.x => they are at Site Details (in Configuration settings)

In your APC goto Configuration=>Settings=>Site Detail, you will find

• Cookie Domain
  
• Cookie Path
  
• Cookie Prefix
  

replace them as appropriate.
