^ SSH access should not be required for database access & its backup. there should be a database manager (eg. phpmyAdmin)
I have the same problem. Also hosting with GoDaddy. My site has also been auto-updated to the latest version. So it seems that the problem is with the auto-update.
OK, so that being identified, how do we solve it? I have very limited knowledge with MYSQL, but can find my way around the database.
