Hi just want to make sure updating from 1.8.3 does we upload all files or some? i dont want to mess up thats why im asking thanks...

ok so this is same upload as new mybb i thought we just upload some files to upgrade,

I would use:

http://docs.mybb.com/1.8/install/upgrade/

Instead.

I dont see difference in files between both @benC i mean upgrade and new has same files unless im wrong

Thanks thats what i needed! also i got softaculous upgrade option im sure thats safe as well right?

i prefer/recommend to doing it manually than softaculous...

I also support manually upgrading a forum.
