I need my forum password protected so I can allow guest posting without being flooded with spam, but I would like the RSS feed to still be available to the public before they log in with the password to post threads or reply.

Is there any way to do this?

On that note ^^^ it would be nice if there were a way to set a general password for guest posting, but no password needed for guests to read posts.

Create a New user group. Copy "Registered" group permissions and name it something like "guest poster"

In forum permission, remove Topic and Post permission from General "Registered" group.

Add known guest posters to the new group

Now only the new group will be able to create topic/posts in that forum.
