thi plugin is really useful for me, but i read it's not compatible with 1.8.x version, there is another version of the plugin or another new that can replace it?

I got it working by finding this:
"compatibility" => "14*,16*"
And changing it to:
"compatibility" => "14*,16*,18*"
The 18* will make it work.

Since updating to 1.8.4 this plugin is causing problems with Emails.
It was working fine on 1.8.3 but now PM and new post notifications emails are not being sent, I have checked by turning the Welcome Plugin off, and when turned off PM and new post notifications work again.
So it's got to be something that has changed from 1.8.3 to 1.8.4 that has caused this, so does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this conflict and how it could be fixed please?

I think the bug I reported may also be due to the welcome pm plugin.
