Can someone please help me find options on " How to provide related topics " to readers ? Is it possible to get a related posts sidebar as we see in some tech blogs ?

Do you mean the "Show 'Similar Threads' Table" option in » Board Settings » Show Thread Options ?
To have it in a sidebar, you have to modify templates.

I did this so i thought ill help sorry if you mind! but here goes!
Go to ACP>configuration>show thread option> show similar thread Table> tick yes and click save settings.
I don't know if i'm allowed or not but here is the screenshot on my forum to show exactly what this does for those who are not familiar with this.
