In my forum settings I have

Can view forum? Checked Yes

Can view threads within forum? Left unchecked

But that group can view the forum AND the threads.  What settings do I need to have so they can only see the forum on the forumdisplay, or even the last post on the right, but not actually click the thread and see the posts?

those permissions should work imo...


what version of MyBB you are using... do you have any plugins which deals with the permissions... do you use secondary usergroups and are those members part of another group as well...

This need custom permissions.
Allow only "View Forum?" and disable all other permissions.

In total, group can view forum on index, can browse it, but it will look like empty forum for them.
