Hey, I'm not the best at making images and graphics and stuff. I was wondering if there are any tips and tricks that you guys have/use. The software I have are Photoshop Elements and The GIMP. Thanks!

Try joining gfx forums and be active and ask/share tutorials and help...

You can find photoshop tutorials and examples on many sites. i recommend checking them.

I use GIMP, and I just get the right colors, and click the gradient tool and pull it down the image (straight), creating a nice gradient.
