I have updated my forum from 1.6.16 to 1.8.4 and then alle buttons, reply boxes, icons etc. are missing. What do I have to do now to get it right?

You need to switch to a 1.8 compatible theme. Either recreate the default one: http://community.mybb.com/thread-158870-...pid1100165 or download a custom one from here: http://community.mybb.com/mods.php?actio...ory=themes
