I tried to install it but still uncompatible with myBB1.8. Is there other way to show the upcoming events on my portal? Maybe around 3 to 5 events so others will be motivated to post their events. thanks

What is the plugin you are using - can you provide a link?

Open the plugin file and change 16* compatibility to 18* - should work fine afetr that.
