I've installed the mod per the instructions, set the group to have access to the plugin. However; my staff member has reported to me they are unable to use it. It is giving them a permissions error.

What are they trying to do when they get the no permission error?

What does the error message say, precisely?

If a usergroup is not allowed to use the account switcher can they be added as a subsidiary account?

Example: I am an admin and only admins can use the account switcher; if I create a user with usergroup registered can I add that user to my admin account?

Yes, you can attach them, BUT Not at the moment, also the menus for switching accounts etc. are only displayed for allowed usergroups.
However you have a point here, It would make more sense, if all attached accounts can switch, even if their group isn't allowed to attach users.
