Hi.
I locked my forum in a frame page, as for certain reasons I need a different domain name being displayed in address bar than the one of the server hosting my forum. But seems like locking the forum in a frame page is a bad idea as trying to login and even getting successful login message I still get to the home page of the forum as guest not a logged user. Of course trying to login from real domain everything works ok. So seems like the frame is causing the problem.
Anyway, practically is clearer, so here we go,
My forum is hosted on this real domain: http://moldova.worldcarp.org/forum
My frame page where I attached the link to the forum is here:
http://www.serviciupentrupace.org/forum.htm
So, trying to login from here: http://www.serviciupentrupace.org/forum.htm I always come back as guest even with successful login message.
Trying to login from here: http://moldova.worldcarp.org/forum everything works ok.
In my forum setting as the home directory I specified of course this real domain: http://moldova.worldcarp.org/forum
Any ideas? Should I just stop using frames?
Thanks.Smile
Try changing the cookie settings in the admin cp to the location of the frameset. For example,
Cookie domain: .serviciupentrupace.org
Cookie path: /
Please note, though, if you do this you may not be able to sign in through moldova.worldcarp.org
Nah, it didn't help at all... must be some other reason... too bad...
When you changed your cookie paths you cleared your cookies too right?

If it doesn't help i'd suggest moving away fromt he frames - i'm not a fan of them at all Wink

If you are using Internet Explorer

Tools > Intenet options > Delete cookies

However i would also recommend staying away from frames.

There are many more articles like this all over the place.

Thanks a lot Darren!
Damn! How could i miss all these points when starting to use frames for forum! Yeah, in the case of forum frames are a total orange... even though frames are usefull somtimes.
Yeah, i think i will not use frames for this forum. Even adding a ceratin thread to favorites makes frames complitely evil... for the forum.
Thanks God, you stopped me Darren Smile
Darren, that's a nice site Smile Thanks.
