Full Version: How to fix some trouble with the ACP

Hi

As I have mentioned in other threads, I have built a MyBB 1.6 test system on my local PC, under Centos.  I imported the database from our live MyBB system.

I need to make some changes to the templates on the test system and so need to access the ACP.  When I login to the ACP at:

http://192.168.2.5/forums/admin/index.php

and enter my admin user credentials, I see the ACP as expected.

However, when I click the Templates tab I am asked for my credentials again.  If I enter the same admin user credentials they are rejected (no error message) and I am prompted for the credentials again.

Please can anyone explain what is happening here?

Best regards

David
It's due to your cookies.

Edit your inc/settings.php file.
Thanks. I edited 'bburl' in inc/settings.php and I am now taken to the correct ACP.  However, when I then click any item in ACP I am again asked for credentials and I can't satisfy them (i.e. they are refused).

Are there any other settings in settings.php that I should change?

Is .cookiesdomain important?  If so, what should I change it to (given that I am only working locally)?
Fixed using Matt's instructions here:
