is it possible that when a user logs in to the forum 
he will be redirected to another theme ? 
a theme which will be easy to use on mobile / tablet ?
So people using mobile can login to the site without issues of slow loading pages.

you can try using MyBB GoMobile modified version or a responsive theme (eg. MyBBPro , MyResponsive ..)

MyBB GoMobile is probably the better option. Some of the responsive themes I see have way too much JS bloat.

I am trying to make a mobile-friendly theme: http://community.mybb.com/thread-169502.html .  Hope this is what you are looking for.  So far, it is in very early stage.  Any comments are welcome.
