I changed webhost and have moved to paid hosting, however, my database backup is an sql.gz file, I can't seem to extract it to an sql, or sql.zip, and if I upload it to phpmyadmin as an sql.gz I get a first line error, can anyone seem to help?

Also see if your new host has a Backup Wizard @ CPanel

You can restore the file there
