Now that I have the 1.8 up and running I enabled the Security Questions for new sign-ups (set to Yes) and added a couple questions.

When I go to the Register page, I do not see any questions.  I have tried using the default Theme to see if my theme was the problem - but no luck.

I did have G33 security questions plug-in at the time I upgraded.  But I have since uninstalled it to use the 1.8 default behavior.

Is there something else I need to do to get this to work?

if you are using earlier theme then it needs to be updated for MyBB 1.8.x

This will show you a list of all the templates that have changed during the upgrade.

You can either revert these templates to their default - meaning all the changes you've made to it will be removed - or you can see a Diff Report which will show you exactly what's changed. If you have a custom theme installed, it is probably best that you look at the Diff Report and apply the changes you need.

or it would be better to install & use a theme fully compatible with MyBB 1.8.x

I tried using the Default theme that gets installed when I upgraded to 1.8 but that had no effect either. Shouldn't the Default theme work?

Or is there another system default that 1.8 installs I can test against?

MyBB's stock theme also needs to be updated (both templates & style sheets)

you can create a new theme based on MyBB's stock theme & check your forum on that newly created theme
