We will strive to have autocomplete in places where it is sensible and we can deliver the feature without negatively impacting performance.
Exactly Will. We haven't yet thought too much about search, but I would also like to see search mechanisms such as ElasticSearch available in the core.
+1 for Auto Complete Search suggestion for MyBB because search system is a very important part of a forum.

this would be neat, but I'd also like to see search results being matched better.
this isn't a knock on just mybb as the search returning accurate results on most forum softwares is horrible.
