Hello I keep getting the following error below and I am not to sure why if you could help me id appreciate it

There was a problem communicating with the MyBB themes server. Please try again in a few minutes.

I don't know if this matters or not but use a old thread I found and uploaded the php file and got the following below

curl_init is available on the server.
fsockopen is available on the server.

thanks for all the help id love to switch over from SMF if it works also I am also sorry if this is the wrong section im new to forum.

Does this mean the themes and plugins server no longer works or? also I have 1.8.4. I have also looked into something for some reason the theme uploader dont work and its not the host because my SMF install works

not sure .. some IP ranges are blocked at CloudFlare level and they can't be easily removed

I don't use cloud flare so I don't understand it

I have the following specs

PHP 5.4.40
MYSQL 5.6.22
server load 2.77

also everytime I try to upload a downloaded theme I get this error below

MyBB could not find the theme with the file you uploaded. Please check the file is the correct and is not corrupt.

^ I was referring to CloudFlare used by MyBB servers.
And have you tried importing xml type of file for theme installation ?

thanks I will give that a shot if it don't work I might sadly just stay with smf.




Edit: its so much easier with smf i might switch back... Tried reinstalling mybb failed I couldnt get it to work had exact same problems.

Please close and lock thread I am switching back I want features that work...

^ have you followed suggested guidance ?
may be you have used automatic (one click) installation & it was problematic !
