Can someone take this plugin http://community.mybb.com/thread-84084.html
and rewrite it and make it work for 1.8?

It says: 

/var/www/forum/inc/languages/english/admin/naoardonate_global.lang.php does not exist

Even though i changed to 0777 of the files there.
It's not a issue of your edited file it's the plugin it self.
Anyway if you read the last few pages people are saying that it wont work with 1.8 since the plugin won't work as it supposed to do.

Just create a custom php page with a paypal button. That'll work just fine.

I did that before, but I like the idea of this plugin which tells how much is needed to be donated each month and you can see a list of those who donated etc..

BTW: I removed the plugin and I still can't access the ACP /var/www/forum/inc/languages/english/admin/naoardonate_global.lang.php does not exist

it's a paid plugin, but it'll do what you want, it's a supported plugin and high quality.

I don't want the members pay for a certain rank.
I want that only admin can mark a member as verified through a button on their profile.
And if they get verified, they will have a mark on their profile page as the image I've showen.

You still don't understand me

maybe not.  your OP said you want a plugin that'll allow for donations.  MySubscriptions allows for one-off payments, similar to donations.
