I am not sure if I understand you correctly, but if you just want to stop people from trying to link images, you might try using word filtering (BadWords).

Admin Control Panel/Configuration/Word Filters

Bad Word = [url=*][img]
Replacement = [img]

Bad Word = [/img][/url]
Replacement = [/img]
