can someone make me a script that i can use to set up an external program. basically the program will send post data to the script (username and pw entered into the program). I need a simple script that will check the posted login creds and then will print the users usergroup on the page for the program to read. 

i have absolutely no idea where to start so if someone could give me a little help i could definitely throw a little cash their way.
