Full Version: Where is my 'index.html' file?

Hi, all.

I'm new to MyBB and to web hosting management.

I opened a hosting account with PHP 5.5 and MySQL a few days ago and set up a one-page temporary site using the host's site builder.

Since then, I've installed and configured MyBB 1.8.5 in the root directory but there is no sign of the relevant 'index.html' file. The index file for the earlier website remains, but there is no sign of an index file for the new installation. I have found some index files in subdirectories but when viewed in Notepad these are empty of any content.

I'm ready to go live, but I don't know how to do this!

What have I missed? Do I need to import an index file from a folder somewhere? Can I create one that will suit the purpose? What happens if I simply delete the existing index file?

Thanks for any help.
MyBB uses php files and index.php is the main file for loading MyBB forum.
if the installation was fine then forum should load normal if you delete existing index.html file from the root folder
Thank you. I did wonder about that.

I have removed the .html file and the forum loads well. Thanks for the quick response.

Best regards.
