Hi,

Im a new user and this is the first time Im trying to use MyBB forum.
I installed MyBB through cPanel and now I want to install a custom theme, like Square Theme. I checked the version, 1.8.x but I receive the following message on my admin cp:

The following errors were encountered:

• This theme has been written for another version of MyBB. Please check the "Ignore Version Compatibility" to ignore this error.

that means select (check in / tick) Ignore Version Compatibility while importing the theme

see if required => theme installation guidance

But why it says it`s not compatible? If I have the MyBB version 1.8.5 and the theme is version 1.8.x it should not appear this message.

well, MyBB 1.8.5 is a sub version of MyBB 1.8 series.
Theme coders might not make compatible version of themes for each & every minor version
