are you making a new theme or modifying MyBB's stock theme / other theme ?
if you are working online then can we have your forum url to check it ..

basically MyBB 1.8.x uses sprite images - icons are shown with css style properties
I have made my own theme but for some reason the images aint showing and also it collapse images aint working and neither are the links

My link is http://habbofalls.3eeweb.com/forum
looks like your theme belongs to MyBB 1.6.x and this topic is in MyBB 1.8.x support forum

which version of MyBB exactly you are using ?

you have to provide test user account or forum access to guests so that someone can check

the theme you have looks like a familiar one.
which theme actually you are using as the base for making new one ?
MyBB Version 1.8.4 and it is a 1.6 but I set variables to be changed to 1.8 when I installed it. It was a free layout where the images didn't show up on the left hand side and neither did the MOD or ADMIN CP Links.. I will change it so the Forum is completely open so you can have a look
whatever theme you have there, it requires a good amount of time & efforts to make it compatible with MyBB 1.8.x

Quote:Visit your Admin Control Panel, then go to Templates & Style > Templates > Find Updated Templates.
This will show you a list of all the templates that have changed

You can either revert these templates to their default - meaning all the changes you've made to it will be removed - or you can see a Diff Report which will show you exactly what's changed. If you have a custom theme installed, it is probably best that you look at the Diff Report and apply the changes you need.

or you may try this guidance => basic theme updating (1.6 - 1.8)
