I can confirm that... not only with A, sometimes it occurs with other letters - Google Chrome

Why doesn't this detect names with for example a @ inside the name? Like for example St@ff.

@thelovelyone use @"St@ff" for such nicknames.

I know, but most users aren't aware of the quote usage, they just use the autocomplete.

I understand you. AFAIK automention is only a "gui" form of DVZ Mentions implementation. You would have to report this problem to DVZ I think, but let's wait for @martec 's reply

if you using mybb 1.8.7 test this http://community.mybb.com/thread-173199-...pid1211720

will fix nick with "@" after two character. but if "@" comes after one common character, not will work, and not has fix for this unfortunately.
