My current forum is with myBB 1.6. I would prefer to stay with myBB 1.6 as everything works that I need and the theme that I am using it great too but is not available for myBB 1.8. Is it important to upgrade to 1.8 as I saw that support for 1.6 was being discontinued very soon. Will it be unsafe to keep the forum with 1.6 after this?
Of course MyBB 1.6 won't be suddenly insecure after it reaches it's EOL. However we won't provide any security fixes which puts you at risk in case a serious vulnerability is found.
Is it possible for me to make the theme compatible with 1.8 or will there be some issues with it?
