Whenever I hold+click on a thread title as a moderator from the thread listing, I can edit the thread title, which is fine. 

However, whenever I complete the edit and press "enter" to save the title, the post body within the thread disappears and instead the text "click to edit" is displayed. 

So basically, doing the hold+click to change the thread title deletes the body text within that thread. 

Any ideas?

I have not merged from any other system - just recently updated to 1.8.
I have smilies turned off on all boards and from the configuration panel!

Not sure what else to check

can you post list of active plugins - have you checked the issue by disabling the plugins ?
