I have this odd issue that keeps happening randomly. Certain forums show fine and others show nothing to guests and registered users.
Permissions are set correctly for all forums and user groups. I did read a thread about "Read Threads in Database (Days) " and am unsure of what this setting actually does?
I've never had this issue and I have ran mybb tons of times with no problems. Just started with 1.8.5 oddly enough.
I don't want any cut off times....I want all threads and replies to show all the time.

Ok, I resolved this by selecting the category of "xyz" forum and editing permissions under "Controls". Changing the viewing options of "Can view threads within forum?" did the trick.
Honestly....never saw that setting before Hope it helps others!
