So I just set up mybb today...

easier than i thought....and I got the basics.

But a weird thing is happening that I'm hoping someone can help me with....

Using MacOS X (10.4.9), Firefox 2
I'm viewing this forum and it looks like this:

MyBB looks like this:

Which is weird, but then I switch over to safari and i get this:

Safari looks normal....what's going on w/ Firefox?

thanks,

Hi, your forum url is not set correctly. In the ACP -> General Settings -> "Board URL", you need to make sure its exactly as we specify. Remember to read the description.

Cheers
Can you post a link to the forum?
Here's the link:

http://karl.ctrlalthost.com/forums
(that's also how I have it in the AdminCP...in Board URL.... I do not have the "/" after the address.)

Like I said, it looks perfect in Safari, but in FF 2.0.0.3 it looks like only the main text shows up. But the MyBB Community forums look fine in FF (& safari of course...)

I've tried clearing out the cache on the browser...still no go....
I'm going to start going through my FF add ons/extensions....maybe there's a conflict there?

Thanks for the help...I'm still learning.

The "Free Hosting Provided by www.16HOSTS.com" in the bottom of the css file is creating that problem. There's nothing we can do about it. You'll need to talk to your host about getting it to not show up on http://karl.ctrlalthost.com/forums/css.php?theme=2
Thanks much.

I figured there was an easier answer in front of my nose....

My plan is to learn about myBB on a free host, before I purchase a domain & host for my family website.

Thanks again,

Karl
Why don't you install an Apache server on your own computer and test it there?

http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
There's also a demo here: http://www.opensourcecms.com/index.php?o...ew&id=2124

Other people have access to that demo too, so you might find it screwed one day or another.
