It would be nice to have a fix for 1.8.7 but I think it wnt be there

That is very surprising.. considering this is a fairly major "feature" i'm surprised it's so problematic to fix..

This is pretty crazy. It's such a prominent feature.. Can someone experienced explain why this is taking so long to fix?

if it is confusing then you can try replacing ~/inc/datahandlers/post.php file with this
