I don't know if this is possible but I thought it would be cool to have it so that users of this software can share right to it with a new topic if they stumble upon (pun intended) an article, site, blog, etc.  I don't know if this would require an app or what, but I thought it would make MyBB more cutting edge and encourage more posting.  In other words, bring it more into the world of true media sharing.  I would suggest giving admins control over which usergroups can post "remotely" like that.

I'm all for this provided that an API / framework is provided to indicate which sites to support. We should not hard-code Facebook, Urkut, or any other social site in our code.

I think this should be pretty practical for 2.0. We've already planned to develop a nice API into the core, so MyBB's version of WP's Press This would be kind of neat.
