I have an IT guy I hired as a freelancer who set up a mybb on chasechat.com for me. It was a theme I found online that I know was difficult. It was in Italian for starters.

The problem I'm having is that people can't seem to register on it and I don't know what to do. People keep messaging me saying they aren't getting an email to verify their registration. Then I go in and through the admin cp I register them. Then they still need an email to verify them they say that they can't get.

Does anyone know how what needs to be done? Very much appreciate it.

Did you check your maillog:

AdminCP -> Tools & Maintenance -> System Mail Log

When mails are not sent for some reason they are shown here.

I see that area, but I'm not sure what it tells me. There are 42 pages there.

It says this.

MyBB was unable to send the email using the PHP mail() function.

It tells you that none of these mails were actually sent.

Can you try to send mails through SMTP mail?

AdminCP -> Configuration (Settings) -> Mail Settings

Then choose SMTP mail. You need some settings of your mail host, but these must be known.

In some cases the settings differ from those you must enter in your mail client. You can ask your host for the settings when mail is sent by a php script.
