I am hoping to make someone a new admin but i do nto want them having full admin priverlages - just enough to run the forum and a few other options - is there any way of being able to give them limited access to admincp?

You can specify which areas of the admin cp your admins can access from the Admin Permissions section.

ACP -> Users and Groups -> Admin Permissions
