Smilies are to close to message content.
What css, template or whatever should I change in order to have some space between smilies and content?

You'll have to actually edit inc/functions_post.php in the dosmilies function to do something like this. Ify you want to add more spacing you can probably do something like (in the <img> tag):

style=\"padding: 3px; \"

which should add more spacing to it..
