Just upgraded to 1.2.3, and now the CAPTCHA images don't show up at all!

Upload a fresh copy of captcha.php

Didn't work...

fo to your acp ===> board settings ===>cahnge ===> General Configuration ==> image capthcha
make it yes

Re upload your language files

Try reuploading all your files? (minus config.php & settings.php)

Ok, that worked, thanks Ryan. There's another problem though.... Now my ACP looks strange, check out the screenshot, see all the dotted lines all over? What's causing that and how do I fix it?

Please make sure you upload your image files in Binary mode, not ASCII mode (this should be an option in your FTP client). You might want to reupload all your image files in this mode to make sure
