I'm trying to install the update and this is what I got in return.

SQL Error:
2006 - MySQL server has gone away
Query:
SELECT tid FROM mybb_tasks WHERE file='versioncheck'

What does this mean? Please I need help! If this isn't in the right place in sorry just irate right now.

This is not a bug, it's a problem with your server. Wait some time and contact your hosting if the problem doesn't disappear.

Fixed it on my own I re uploaded 1.8.5 and then upload the changed files of 1.8.6

That won't fix the issue. The issue is a problem with your SQL server...

Your MySQL server wasn't reachable by MyBB. Maybe MySQL crashed or was stopped?
