This is the ad code I've been given from propellerads but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to add this.

tried Mybb add rotator and mybb my advertisements plugins but did not work

you can add it at the bottom of the header template of your forum's active theme

Admin CP > Templates & Styles > Templates > Select Your Active Theme > Header Templates > Header

Find where you want it to be, e.g. under where the banner is being placed, and then place the code there. You can always move it up and down and style it.

To style it, use classes and add your style to the global stylesheet.
