Just upgraded to v1.8.6 and I checked setting files and set domain info correctly, config.php,  and also the forum settings to new domain/server info.
Have I overlooked something?  Users can't post, button is inactive.

Any help?

what you mean by inactive... members cant login... most likely its a cookie related issue if they cant login... Check this Doc and also the cookie settings in inc/settings.php file...

Well, I checked both board-settings and setting files  under /inc and both are sound and correct.
So what can the problem be?

That most likely means you're using an outdated 1.6 theme. Either download a 1.8 compatible theme: http://community.mybb.com/mods.php?actio...ory=themes or use the Find Updated Templates functionalityand fix all changed templates, especially headerinclude.

Okay. The update of the template fixed the prob.
