Yes you can and it's rather easy to do. You can pretty much get 100% of a basic phpbb install converted to mybb. If you wish you can do some modifying to grab other custom data if you need it.

Sorry, but I did search and when I used those files, it said I had the wrong version of phpBB?
+ that thread you sent me doesnt have any files, its just you getting beta testers. I was wondering if there are any available to download now?
