Do you think it will be possible to merge/export MyBB 1.8 to futur MyBB 2.0 ?

I ask because I see that this is not the case currently for MyBB 1.6 to 1.8 and also I plan to redesign "my" forums, but if there is this possibility, I prefer waiting some months for the release of MyBB 2.0...

The merge system isn't for upgrading. It's for converting a forum running another software (e.g. phpBB) to MyBB. You can upgrade from 1.6 to 1.8 the same way you upgrade from MyBB 1.6.17 to MyBB 1.6.18.

You'll be able to upgrade from 1.8 to 2.0, though the process will be more complicated.

You can upgrade from 1.6 to 1.8 using the official upgrade system; similarly, an upgrade from 1.8 to 2.0 will be possible as well.

OK, I did not know that was possible in the same way with the major versions (I started on 1.8), sorry!
