Is there a mod to skip the thanks messages? I'll need it because I'm doing something on my site in which forum members need to log in to access.

Yep, It's optional for users:
(User CP > Edit options > Other options > Show friendly redirect page)

Try looking in the admin panel for a global one.

ACP -> Board Settings -> Change -> Server and Optimization Options -> Friendly Redirection Pages
