Is there a way to disable editing in a certain forum? Or is there a mod for this?

Yeah you can set the forum permissions to do that. Admin CP --> Manage Forums. Click on "Subforums / Moderators" beside the forum. Then click on "Set Permissions" beside the "Registered" usergroup. Then set "Can Edit Own Posts" to no.
