MyBB is indeed on a clean installation quite faster than you think.

It means it's your hosts problem, not MyBB's. Server Load has nothing to do with MyBB.

It loaded in a few seconds for me, which is pretty normal

Looking at the page generation time, .1 seconds isn't that slow, in fact it's quite normal. I think if it's taking it a long time for you to load the page, perhaps it is a problem with your internet connection.

And Server Load really isn't an issue as far as I know.

A high server load isn't necessarily bad, it just depends how the server is set up.

As for your website, it loads in 1 - 2 secs for me on a 2MB connection in the UK.
