Did you try to upload it again or download it with another browser? Which browser(s) did you try?
I too am having a problem ... same exact thing uploads more than one of the files and takes forever,, then it is damaged or unknown.
It was working and now it is not. I tried to replace the file and it has the same result. Unfortunatly this is a horrible situation for my. My site depends on it.. just take a peek here as to why:

what should I do?

You can start by answering the questions I asked above. We need to debug it and so far I can't reproduce it locally. Also, providing a testing account on your site and direct link(s) to broken attachments would be nice.

Okay I tested it in Firefox and Chrome and I have the same results. I will set up a testing forum that can be reached by all as a subforum called testing I will give you the link.. and I am working on giving you a broken link to show you. Hope we can have this repaired.. Okay here goes:

Here is the link to the test forum:

Now let me explain that the attachments are uploading multiple copies of the same file. To show this I put the ajax multiple upload back on because if you are able to edit that file, you will see it uploaded 4 of the same.
Here is the ink ( which took 1/2 hour to upload ) It will not upload using the regular attachment because it says the file is too big when actually it is uploading 3 or more copies:

I will check back here often to be sure you do not need anything else. The forum is closed to memberships because I am building it.

thank you so much!

And there's your problem, most likely.. This plugin caused some problems in the past, this time it might have too.

Bugs should be reported on clean forums = all plugins should be turned off.

But that plugin worked so very well last week :} Okay I am turning everything off now.. I got them off. Sorry about that

After uninstalling all my plugins this is what I get:  but the file is not that size it is a PDF in zip format. So I cannot upload anything right now.

Please correct the following errors before continuing:
  • The file you attached is too large. The maximum size for that type of file is 4096 kilobytes.
is there a size limit in the ACP? try reset that and re actiivate your plugin
I did ...and it is not that size. hmmm the file size is 21.3MB

Does your host have a max upload size set in php.ini?
